'Ultima Forever' brings a video game classic back to life

3 hrs.

"Ultima" fans have reason to rejoice, because BioWare has announced it is making a free-to-play version of "Ultima V" with multiplayer support, updated graphics and improvements to the combat sections.?

"Ultima Forever"?will be?available?on PC and iPad. The game will use EA's Origin matchmaking service to bring gamers together for quests.

"Ultima" creator Richard Garriott is not involved in the project but the folks at?Bioware have?stated that they are melding his vision of "Ultima" with their own narrative style. There will be a new mentorship system which allows gamers to help lower level players with their campaigns by temporarily lowering their own levels (in an effort to keep missions fun for all involved),?

It is great to see the grandfather of Western role-playing games make a return, and hopefully it will be a?triumphant?one.?You can find the full website for "Ultima Forever" right here.
